Construction Director, Tom Vosmer, was asked about how he came to launch the Jewel of Muscat project.
Tom Vosmer, Construction Director:
I have been interested in ancient boats all my life. I had also previously supervised most of the construction of the Sindbad Voyage boat Sohar for Tim Severin in Oman in 1980, and spent 12 seasons researching and documenting Omani traditional craft.
My background as a professional boat builder, model builder and archaeologist naturally attracted me to this sort of project.
