At what point are the goats going to consume so much fodder and water that they are more a burden than an asset?

Although we cannot give a definite lifespan for the goats, at this stage in late February, it is generally assumed that at the time the fodder runs out, so will the goats' time.  Eyewitnesses have noted that "there was not much fodder on board".  However, in the meantime the goats are being well cared for.
