Why is the Jewel named Jewel of Muscat and not the Jewel of Oman?
The Jewel of Muscat was one of a few special names originally discussed for the ship. The final recommendation for the name was made by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos himself.
In Oman, it's traditional to name boats after individual ports rather than countries.
