How does the crew cook their food?
Food is cooked in the traditional way on a charcoal stove on deck. This is kept within a fire proof box to reduce the fire risk. During rough weather this means that the crew has to make do with cold food. See image 57 in the Preparing for Sea gallery to see the grill in action. This is an authentic recreation of how things were done back in the 9th century.
